Mental health disorders are a significant concern in Australia, with approximately one in five adults experiencing a mental health condition each year. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 20.1% of Australians aged 16-85 have experienced a mental disorder in the past 12 months, with anxiety disorders, affective disorders, and substance use disorders being the most common. Conventional treatment approaches for mental health disorders typically involve psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and medication, including antidepressants and anxiolytics.
